Pearls: One of Nature's Most Beautiful Representations of Women.

Pearls: One of Nature's Most Beautiful Representations of Women.

In ancient China, Pearls were believed to guarantee protection from Fire and Fire-breathing dragons…In Europe, for centuries, they symbolized modesty, chastity and purity…..I think if would have spent anytime in your life with a woman, you can easily understand how both beliefs could be true…..

I would like to give you this thought: The incredible beauty that can be found in Pearls...actually comes as a result of Pain. When an Oyster creates a Pearl, it is not a part of some Natural life process that all Oyster must go through…...No! It is in response to a stimulus. The Pearl is the end result of a Defense mechanism to an Intrusion. If it’s a Natural Pearl....then the intrusion may be a particle of gritty sand, but most of the time, it is a parasitic worm that managed to slip between the lips of the Oyster. If Oyster is a Cultured Pearl then the intrusion was purposely put into the Oyster’s body, by man....and not just anywhere in the body...but in the delicate Sex organs of that Oyster, causing what I could only imagine to be tremendous pain and suffering. Sadly many Oysters, whether they be Natural or Cultured do not survive this ordeal. The lovely iridescent beauty of a Pearl, is as a result of the Oyster protecting itself...It forms a sac around the invading object and secretes thousands of layers, layers upon layer of a substance called Nacre. This natural material allows the Oyster to survive and more importantly grow, despite the painful thing has experienced and still has inside of it. So the next time you see a Pearl....please know... that what you are actually looking at is the Choice that some Oyster made to survive. That Oyster somehow found the strength and dare I say the courage, to take a horrible, life-changing experience and make the decision to not only survive, but to take that invading powerful force.....and make it...transform it....into something beautiful. The everlasting beauty that comes from that ordeal, may manifest itself into different sizes, shapes and colors, but that’s because each Oyster deals with its pain...in it own unique way. A Pearl is more than just an organic gemstone....it serves a Symbol of what all of us “higher life forms” are asked to do...at some point in our lives.
